Reflecting on 2025 at High Spirits: A Year of Growth, Learning, and Aloha
Aloha beautiful community,
Somehow, we’ve arrived at the end of another big, heart-expanding year and what a year it’s been! As the festive season approaches and the days slow down just a little, we want to pause, reflect, and celebrate everything that’s happened at High Spirits in 2025.
Celebrating a Year of Trainings
2025 has been an incredible year for learning and growth. From KaHuna Bodywork Levels 1 through 7 to Heartworks Lomi Lomi Level 1 and Instructor Training, to our Leadership & Facilitation Training, it’s been amazing to watch so many people step into their power, deepen their practice, and rise as leaders in our community.
Every training has been a reminder of why we do what we do, witnessing transformation, connection, and courage is a gift that never gets old.
Honouring Duncan Crosby
This year, we said farewell to a beloved member of our High Spirits Ohana, our dear brother, teacher, and friend, Duncan Crosby.
And yet… it doesn’t feel like goodbye. Not really.
Since Duncan’s passing, we’ve felt him with us immensely in our trainings. His presence, his humour, his essence, his soul - it’s all here.
“Dunky Doo,” comes to us in so many ways: through eagles soaring overhead, through gentle nudges Jacque gets, through the laughter that bubbles up unexpectedly and rainbows that show up right when we need them. He’s in the hands of students discovering new depths in KaHuna, in moments of playful mischief, in the quiet guidance that only his energy can bring.
We bow with gratitude, celebrate his radiant spirit, and hold space for his laughter and love. Duncan’s energy is still very much alive here, cheeky, wise, playful, and utterly unforgettable.
We love you, Duncan. Always.
A Big Change: Farewell Tivoli, Welcome Home
This year, one of the biggest milestones for us was saying goodbye to Tivoli Retreat.
Tivoli has been such a special place designed for cleansing, detox, and deep relaxation. Over the years, it has held countless people on their journeys of healing - body, mind, heart, and soul.
And now, Tivoli begins a beautiful new chapter. The land has been passed onto Little Haven Palliative Care, a hospice organisation dedicated to supporting people at the end of life with dignity, compassion, and tenderness. It feels deeply fitting that Tivoli will continue to hold people in such a meaningful way - a different kind of healing, but the same spirit of love.
As for us, we’re bringing all of Tivoli’s magic home to High Spirits. Expect more magical cleansing days, deep detox retreats, and heart-opening Aloha Days all infused with the energy, care, and spirit that made Tivoli so special.

This year, you’ve guided trainings, danced under the stars, nurtured the land, and supported our community with generosity, care, and dedication. Your presence turns visions into reality and makes High Spirits a place where people can truly heal, grow, and connect.
Every smile, every thoughtful action, every ounce of energy you’ve poured into this space has made a difference. We see you. We appreciate you. We couldn’t do this without you.

A Message from Mette & Jorgen
A big year, big birthdays, and a clear new direction
“This year 2025 was a big one for us personally, we both turned 60!
It’s one of those milestones that naturally makes you stop, reflect, and take stock of where you’ve been and where you want to go next.”
For Mette, the first 30 years of this work were about one thing:
supporting and developing excellent bodyworkers.
Now, moving into this next chapter, her focus is shifting.
She’s feeling really inspired to support and train excellent teachers - the people who will carry this work forward into the future. She’s currently pouring her energy into the new KaHuna Teacher Training program, which will become a big part of the next phase of High Spirits.
For Jorgen, this year has been about realigning with the things that genuinely light him up.
He’s excited to spend more time on his creative projects (More Jorgen tables!), his music, and getting back into offerings like Time 4 Touch Chair Massage Days. Having the space to reconnect with his own passions has been refreshing, and he’s looking forward to bringing more of that energy into 2026.
As we move forward, we’re slowly and intentionally handing over more leadership to the wider Ohana.
It feels like the right time - not stepping away, but making more room for others to step in, contribute, and help shape what comes next.
This community has always been a collaboration, and that will continue as we enter this next chapter.
Wrapping Up the Year
As we close out 2025, we want to say a simple, genuine thank you.
Thank you for showing up, to the trainings, the retreats, the working bees, the circles, and the everyday moments that make this place what it is.
Thank you for your trust, your effort, your presence, and your heart.
We’re looking forward to 2026 and everything we’ll build together.
