There are moments in life when everything feels steady and mapped out.
And then there are moments when the map dissolves.
High Spirits Retreat has always been a place of transformation. For over three decades, what began as a suitcase, a massage table, and a dream has grown into a thriving community of more than 5,000 students who have walked through our doors.
High Spirit Retreat, the building and the land is for sale.
We built something extraordinary here in the Noosa hinterland — not just a retreat centre, but a living, breathing school of embodied leadership, Ka Huna bodywork, and heart-centred growth.
The course and retreats are continuing.
And now… we are entering a new chapter.
WHEN LIFE TURNS THE PAGE FOR YOU
Recently, my husband Jørgen, who has handcrafted our massage tables, built all the buildings, and quietly supported every corner of this vision, was diagnosed with serious cancer.
Suddenly, time feels different.
Priorities shift.
Clarity arrives.
And in the midst of uncertainty, a deeper question arises:
What is essential now?
For us, the answer is simple:
Love. Health. Presence. Legacy.
Instead of seeing this season as an ending, we are choosing to see it as an invitation.
An opportunity
FROM HOLDING ON TO PASSING FORWARD
For over 30 years, I have scheduled courses 12–18 months in advance. The calendar was always full. The pathway clear.
For the first time in history, the schedule is open.
Not from collapse.
But from transition.
We are exploring what it looks like for High Spirits to move into new hands or new leadership, while preserving its heart.
The teachings will continue.
The leadership trainings will continue.
The Ka Huna lineage, the Heartworks Lomi Lomi pathways, the facilitator development are alive and strong.
But perhaps the stewardship shifts.
Perhaps the next generation rises.
Perhaps someone reading this feels something stir.
GROWTH HAS ALWAYS LIVED HERE
High Spirits was never just about massage.
It has always been about:
Rite of passage
Embodied leadership
Nervous system resilience
Spiritual maturity
Community
We have guided thousands through their own turning points divorce, burnout, trauma, awakening, reinvention.
And now, we walk our own.
One of the great lessons I’ve learned in my life is this:
Healing is not about avoiding disruption.
It is about finding the gift inside it.
Every injury I’ve had.
Every loss.
Every unexpected shift.
Each one carried a redirection.
And so does this.
AN OPPORTUNITY IN DISGUISE
There is something powerful about not knowing the exact next step.
It opens space.
It invites collaboration.
It allows new energy to enter.
High Spirits Retreat may evolve.
It may be held by new custodians.
It may expand in ways we have not yet imagined.
But its essence — integrity, flow, spirit, courage — remains unshaken.
Because a place like this is not just buildings on 14 acres of north-facing hinterland.
It is hosting the people.
The teachers.
The students.
The lineage.
The love poured into every massage and every circle.
That cannot be sold.
Only continued.
A SHIP WAS NEVER BUILT FOR THE HARBOUR
There is a beautiful proverb:
A ship is safest in the harbour but that is not what she was built for.
High Spirits has never been only about safety.
It has been about growth.
About stepping beyond comfort.
About discovering your magic.
About becoming stronger through the tunnel.
And now, we practice what we teach.
We step into the unknown with faith.
We soften.
We listen.
We trust that the next chapter will unfold exactly as it should.
